The development of the journal is planned to be carried out in several thematic areas presented below
The Journal of Romani Studies is thematically focused on publishing research on various Romani studies issues.

The purpose of the journal is to publish scientific research on the history, religion, culture, folklore, traditions, economics and language of the Roma.

The objectives of the journal are to publish exclusively scientific research containing objective, strictly scientific research in the field of Slavic-Turkic studies, having a formalized scientific apparatus and using methodological approaches known in the humanities, the results of the research must be verifiable; interpretation, systematization and increase of scientific knowledge in the field of development of of Romani studies.

The preferred language for publishing scientific research is English.

In accordance with the definition of open access formulated at the Budapest Conference on Open Access, users of the journal are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, quote full-text articles of the journal, provide links to them without prior approval from the publisher or author of the material.
